Visit Australia

Visit Australia

Australia is a country to pan without tour packages and to stay in shelters or as they call them, backpackers. Usually in large cities they are more "seedy" but if we go out to cities coast or smaller villages we can find us with small motels with pool (remember that Australia is quite hot, so a small pool usually thanked for much), bungalows or cabañitas wood. They usually have a small kitchen, a bar and especially good atmosphere with people willing to engage in conversation.

For people traveling to Australia, I'll put a list of backpackers where I was, of which I have good memories. Whenever you go to a backpacker should keep several things in mind: we do not go to a hotel. Although they have individual and two-person rooms, most of them have multiple rooms for 4, 5, 6 ... Here's the list.

SYDNEY

Jolly Swagman Backpackers 27 Orwell St, Kings Cross, Sydney, New South Wales, NSW 2011, Australia

As I said before hostels in the big city they are always left the small towns. This is in the district of Kings Cross, where the march and the traveling environment. In this neighborhood there is usually no accommodation problems, and which is full of backpackers. Without going any further, just opposite the Jolly Swagman, a little to the left is another whose name I do not remember, but it was not bad.

ALICE SPRINGS

Annie's Place Hostel, 4 Traeger Ave, Alice Springs, Northern Territory, 0870, Australia

With this heat in this city, the pool can save your life. I have a memory of a very clean hostel, and a bar with lots going on.

KATHERINE

Palm Court Backpackers, Corner Third and Giles St, Katherine, NT 0850, Katherine 0850, Australia

Ojo, we are in the north and the heat is perpetual. This old motel become Backpacker is typical of the yankies films: ceiling fans to cool the warm nights and car doors sticking with the purest Motel style. It has a small pool but in this village there is a thermal river in the jungle where the bathroom is more relaxing. The owners were very nice and we watched movies nights put in a hammock.

TOWNSVILLE

Adventurers Resort 79 Palmer Street, South Townsville, Townsville, Queensland 4810, Australia

Hostel quite large in this seaside Australian city. Organized excursions to sail the yacht club in the city. You join and you get into the boat a character walk there.

RAINBOW BEACH (starting point for Fraser Island)

Dingos Backpacker Resort, Fraser Island, Rainbow Beach. Australia

A joy, Bungalows to share. Good vibes, because from here organized safaris Fraser Island

DUNK ISLAND CAMPING

From Mission Beach you can catch a ferry to the island, where there is a resort and camping. I forget the name, but it is impossible to miss because it is the only thing on the island. As you get off the ferry you have a bar and camping. Advisable to spend a night here, to enjoy with fishing boats that dock in the cove with the kids jump from the pier or eat the coconuts that fall from the palm trees.

BYRON BAY

Arts Factory, VillageSkinners Shoot Rd, Byron Bay 2481New South Wales, Australia.

Hostel-camping created by the hippies in the '70s can still see the hippy atmosphere in this campsite and in town. If you're a hippy or want to see some of those left, let not to go for this hostel and this people. By the way, nearby there is a town called Nimbin where the police turn a blind eye and marijuana and the related industry is the order of the day.
