Australian Citizenship
Australia allows dual citizenship. For example, an Australian citizen can obtain another nationality through marriage.
Similarly, a permanent resident of Australia can obtain Australian citizenship while retaining their nationality of origin. However, the applicant should check whether dual citizenship is allowed in their country of origin or whether, by contrast, would lose its nationality to obtain Australian.
Australian citizens who hold dual nationality, must be used Australian passports to enter and leave the country; this obligation does not prevent them from using other passport out of Australian territory.
